Thank You for Considering Hiring Me
I was born and raised in Baltimore City, working as a construction laborer during high school and my undergraduate years at University of Maryland. After earning a B.A. in American Studies, I attended Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle while working as a farm laborer in Cumberland and Perry Counties. During this time, I also worked for several law offices in Chambersburg and Harrisburg, including Legal Services, Inc. Upon earning my law degree, I gained insight into how Courts, government, and bureaucracies function by working as a clerk for The Honorable Wayne Hummer, Judge, Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas, the Dauphin County Solicitor’s Office, and then for the Bureau of Workers Compensation as a Staff Attorney.
Starting in 1991, I learned the nuts and bolts of criminal defense practice as an Assistant Public Defender in Adams County, representing impoverished clients in misdemeanor and felony jury trials, after which I opened my own law office, serving clients in Cumberland, Adams, Chambersburg, and York Counties. My practice focused on criminal defense, divorce, custody, and consumer bankruptcies, and continued through 1999. While building my practice, and to make ends meet, I drove taxi, and delivered pizzas and newspapers. During this time, I became the proud father of two sons; my pride in their accomplishments continues to this day as they complete college and enter the workforce.
From 2000 through 2006, I honed my workers compensation and bankruptcy knowledge by working as a clerk for attorneys in Baltimore City, Owings Mills, and Washington, D.C.
In 2006 I reopened my private practice in York; I have since opened an additional office in Harrisburg on Front Street overlooking the Susquehanna River.
I try to apply to my practice to the humility gained through my various labor jobs and my period of clerkship in Maryland and D.C. Every single one of us, including myself, has made mistakes in life and deserves help in doing “the next right thing” to regain balance and calm for themselves and others. Some people seek a lawyer’s help in minimizing the damage they have done to themselves, some have done nothing wrong and need help nonetheless, and many fall somewhere in between. In any case, it is possible to provide professional, competent help in an informal atmosphere while letting clients feel at ease. I try to do that and would be happy to do so for you.
